WANA (Apr 03) – Iran has strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s aerial and ground military aggression against Syria, which resulted in the destruction of civilian, scientific, and research facilities, as well as several defense infrastructure sites in the provinces of Damascus, Hama, Homs, and Daraa.

The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the Israeli regime’s repeated acts of aggression and its targeting of Syria’s most valuable defense assets and military and civilian infrastructure, as well as its occupation of strategic parts of the country since the fall of the previous government, emphasized the responsibility of all parties involved in facilitating Israel’s exploitation and aggression. He also reminded that the Islamic Republic of Iran had, months ago, warned regional countries about Israel’s opportunism in Syria’s current situation, its expansion of occupation, and its attempts to ignite conflicts in Syria and other regional states.

Baghaei stressed that, as in the past, the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to preserving Syria’s territorial integrity, dignity, and national sovereignty as a deeply rooted and proud nation in the critical West Asian region. He called on the international community, particularly regional countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to take urgent and effective measures to halt Israel’s aggression, end the regime’s impunity, and hold it accountable for its blatant violations of international law, continuous attacks on regional states, and ongoing genocide in occupied Palestine.
